Traveling is a nightmare. Don’t get me wrong, arriving to your destination and being able to enjoy your plans always ends up being worth it, but the physical aspect of getting through security checkpoints (whether you’re solo, in a group of friends, with your spouse, or hauling kids around) is so painful. I always joke that traveling will make or break relationships because it really brings out the true colors of a person. And I’ve been that person that has traveled solo/with friend groups/with boyfriends and my husband/with children and it just never seems to get easier OR be the same experience (despite TSA being so regulated). Especially now as a mom who frequently travels with a toddler, I constantly feel bad about the stroller and the breaking it down and the time it takes and now I’ve backed up the line and now my kid is running amuck and so on and so forth. So I was so excited to hear about the newest TSA updates that will be rolling out nationwide.

First: Families will have dedicated checkpoints with extra space, AND families will be eligible for a $15 discount for TSA PreCheck.
Second: Military members and families will also have dedicated spaces and discounts for PreCheck. The Honor Lane, currently exists at 11 airports and will expand nationwide. Gold Star families, which are family members of fallen service members who died while serving during a time of conflict, will be able to utilize PreCheck free of charge. Military spouses will also be able to receive a $25 discount on PreCheck services.
While it has been hinted at that more changes may be coming to TSA checkpoints and process, these are some really exciting changes to announce!
